Beyond the basic knowledge required of all IBCLCs, I've also taken additional coursework to help babies who are not feeding well. This includes helping babies get an optimal latch and use their mouths and bodies with ease. I also specialize in preparing babies who are going to have releases of tongue, lip, and/or cheek/buccal ties to get the best outcomes. After releases of tongue, lip and/or cheeks/buccal ties I then help babies relearn to feed from bottle or breast and to use their mouths more effectively. This entire process from beginning to end is essential for babies to optimize their function and to get the best outcomes from these releases.

Coursework in maternal mental health helps me support mothers in body and mind. I want mothers to feel confident and well supported in all of their decisions.

I have also trained in holistic lactation methods, which allow me to draw on gentle yet effective tools such as nutrition and herbs. I am a Holistic Health Coach, certified through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Establishing good health and nutrition is a journey that begins with and continues beyond breastfeeding. It’s why I integrate nutrition into some consults, including regarding milk production, digestive issues, and solids, when applicable and for mothers who are interested.
